3-Ingredient Teriyaki Marinade/Stir Fry Sauce

Oooooh I love teriyaki sauce! I love grilled teriyaki chicken and steak, in fact teriyaki steak is my favorite! We do have our favorite bottled teriyaki sauces and marinades, but this little recipe I came up with is a gem, and you probably have all the ingredients in your kitchen already!

What you need:

~ 1/3 – 1/2 C. soy sauce (depending on how much meat you have)

~ 1 T. brown sugar

~ 1 t. minced garlic (I use the stuff already minced in the jar!)

What you do:

Step One: Mix all ingredients in a bowl until sugar is dissolved.

Step Two: Add chicken or steak to a gallon sized Ziploc baggie and pour marinade over the top.

Step Three: Marinate for a few hours (over night is best) and then grill, pan fry or bake!

*Hint* If you would like to use this marinade as a sauce to make teriyaki stir fry, cook chicken as vegetables in olive oil first. Then mix 1 T. cornstarch into the sauce mix and mix until combined. Add cooked chicken and veggies into one pan (hot) and slowly add the sauce, it will thicken after just a few minutes of cooking. YUM!

Thanks for stopping by my kitchen, don’t forget to see what my friends at Coping With Frugality and Full Time Mama are making for dinner this week!
