Open Faced Italian Sandwich (Delicious Dish Tuesday)

This week for DDT I am going to share with you a super simple way to use your leftovers from spaghetti night!

Make sure when you are done you pop over to Full Time Mama and Coping With Frugality to check out the rest of the DDT dishes! You will not be disappointed!

Open Faced Italian Sandwiches are the perfect way to use up leftover garlic bread and meat sauce after spaghetti night. I usually have one or the other left over and I hate wasting food!

What you need:

Garlic toast (I use the frozen kind, but any will work!)

Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Spaghetti sauce (with meat mixed in is fine!)

Meat (if it is not already in your sauce)

What you do:

1) If you have not already cooked the garlic toast, do this first, and then set aside to cool

2) Preheat the broiler on your oven

3) Add meat, sauce and mozzarella cheese to the top of each piece of toast

4) Place sandwiches on a cookie sheet and place in the oven under the broiler for a few minutes until cheese is bubbly

That’s it! I like to serve this with a side salad, especially on nights when I know I am going to make dessert. It makes a great light supper!
