Wow! It feels so good to be halfway through my 12 week Revolt Fitness transformation. And transformation is not an understatement. This week I wanted to reveal a few ways in which the Revolt program has changed me (or at least helped me change myself) besides just in pounds and inches! Being physically fit had always been an important part of my life, pre-children. I was always in sports, particularly soccer, and continued to be active at the gym and in adult soccer leagues in college. When I started having babies, I made a decision to just not worry about my body until I was done having kiddos. I now have three little ones, ages 7, 4 and 1. When my youngest (and last) baby turned 1 in March, and was completely weaned, I knew it was time. This is a bittersweet time for me, knowing that I will not have any more children makes me sad, but I am taking all of that energy and focusing it on making healthy changes for myself. I was about to type, “getting my body back”, but that is not actually my goal. I know that I will never again have the body I had when I was 22. That was a girl’s body, what I have now is a woman’s body, complete with wider hips, extra skin around the belly and let’s just say some natural shifting and settling has occurred. Many cultures identify stretch marks and mommy hips as beautiful and honorable, I choose to align with those ideals! What I am longing for now is more energy, less aches and pains, and hopefully a more balanced muscle to fat ratio!
Here are some of the positive changes I have seen since starting Revolt 6 weeks ago:
~ Less mindless eating
~ Fewer headaches (from daily to only once a week or so)
~ I can touch my toes!!
~ a TON more energy
~ More self confidence
~ More effort in other areas of my appearance like putting on make-up, blow drying my hair, wearing jeans more than yoga pants LOL!
And because I know that you all are wondering, I will give you my numbers for the week.
~ Starting Weight (this week) 143 lbs.
~ Weight loss: Lost 1 pound this week, down 12 lbs total
~ Maintained waist size, 1.75 inches lost total
Sorry for the lame-o results, we moved this week, and although the lifting was hard work, the eating was not on track! I was thrilled just to have maintained my numbers!
