Surviving Soccer Season With Tips From Unstoppable Moms #ad

I wrote this post as part of my participation in a blog tour for The Motherhood on behalf of the makers of Children’s MOTRIN® and received compensation to thank me for taking the time to participate. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Are you an unstoppable mom? Do your feet hit the floor running every morning and not stop until the kids are in bed at night? I think no matter how many children we have, we are all busy, navigating our way through the unique challenges each day brings. We are creative, stubborn, driven and passionate in our quest. The makers of Children’s MOTRIN® want to celebrate today’s motherly heroes with their “Unstoppable Moms” campaign. They are rallying moms from around the nation to share their tips and tricks with each other so we can help each other make life a little bit easier.

I couldn’t be happier about this idea, how valuable our own experiences can be to one another! Right now my family is smack dab in the middle of soccer season for our 8 and 5 year old daughters. I knew this season was going to be hectic so I turned to one of my friends who is an expert baseball mom for tips. She is truly an unstoppable mom and her experience in this area has been crucial for me!

Using her ideas, here is what I do to make soccer season easier:

~ Use the crock pot to make meals that will feed the family for two nights (roast, pasta, chili, etc.)

~ Keep sports gear in a basket or tub in the back of the car. Wash and dry uniforms right after games and put them back in the bag. Keep full water bottles/snacks well stocked.

~ Keep a paper calendar on the fridge with practices/games marked for each child for the whole month. Color coding by child works well! Mark snack/drink schedules here as well.

~ Email game schedules to family/friends who will be attending games at the beginning of the season. If they lose it they can just look it up again in their inbox.

~ Label, label, label! Always use your last name and phone number where possible, sporting gear is easily misplaced!

Do you have great tips to share with others? The makers of Children’s MOTRIN® want to hear from you! Each week they will be posting a question from Kelly Ripa to their Facebook page, in one of these categories: meals, kids’ activities, shopping, household and me time. For each tip shared, $1 will be donated to Safe Kids. Each week a winner will be drawn to win a $100 gift card.*

  1. Those are some great tips for moms of sports kids! Especially labeling. I know my son is always loosing something – So Labeling his gear would be a perfect idea!

  2. We also keep a stock of camp chairs and gear for all kinds of weather in the back of the car- one day it’s sunny and hot, the next it’s rainy and cold. It’s nice to be prepared for anything when we’re at games all morning!

  3. I love the idea of a paper calendar, I don’t know how I would function at all without mine honestly! I color code mine like you suggested and each family member knows their color and that they dare not write something unless it is the correct color! :)

  4. These are great tips for any family! None of our kids are in sports but having such a large family, the crockpot meals that last more than one night have saved me more times than I can count. And I love the idea of color coding the calendar. That’s a great idea!
