I don’t know about your family, but around here we LOVE a yummy cheeseburger! We like to shake things up a little bit too, and in an effort to jazz up our regular cheeseburger night, I came up with these tortilla burgers that are delish!
1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
Vegetable oil or butter
Large tortillas or wraps (we really like the Jalapeno ones!)
Shredded or sliced cheese
2 T. ranch dressing
2 T. salsa
Any variety of toppings: Shredded lettuce, diced tomato, onion, Cilantro, pico de gallo, avocado, etc.
Step 1) Mix ground beef and taco seasoning in a bowl. They key is to mix it thoroughly but carefully, do not smash and compact the meat too much! Shape into four patties.
Step 2) Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook burgers until cooked through.
Step 3) Melt cheese over the top of the burgers until bubbly and delicious!
Step 4) Warm up tortillas and wraps in the microwave for 10 -15 seconds.
Step 5) Place burger in a tortilla/wrap and top with desired toppings.
Step 6) Mix ranch and salsa together and drizzle over the top.
Step 7) Wrap burger up like a burrito.
Serve with chips and watermelon for a yummy lunch or corn and oven roasted potatoes for dinner!
**If you are counting calories or carbs you can cut the tortilla in half and just wrap the burger in it. A little more messy but still delicious!**
Variation: Pita Burger – Season beef with salt and pepper, place inside a pita with feta, lettuce, cucumbers, greek yogurt and olives!
