Homemade Carpet Deodorizer Plus *GIVEAWAY*

I have been having so much fun mixing up recipes with my Young Living Essential Oils lately, but this one is my new favorite. Lots of carpet + 3 kids + 1 dog = stinky carpets that need to be vacuumed daily. This homemade carpet deodorizer recipe is inexpensive, effective, and easy to make! Aside from the oils, it costs about $2 to make this recipe. The cheese shakers can be found at the dollar store which is a great find!

Glass cheese shaker

Sandwich baggie

1 C. baking soda

8 drops essential oils (any combo, although I recommend the Purification)

What to do:

Add baking soda and essential oils to the baggie, zip close, mix. Once the oils have been mixed into the baking soda, add the mixture to the shaker. Lay the plastic baggie over the top of the shaker (to keep the baking soda from spilling out the holes) and then screw on the metal top. Shake well so that the oils distribute themselves evenly throughout the baking soda. Unscrew the cap, remove the baggie, let sit for 12-24 hours before using.

To Use:

Sprinkle the deodorizer sparingly on the carpet before vacuuming to remove odor.
